Answer:

By using the quadratic formula we derive the discriminant

D = b^2-4ac

D= 4^2 - 4*4*1

D= 16-16

D= 0

Now,

x = -b+√D/2a and -b-√D/2a

x = -4+0/2 and -4-0/2

x = -2 and -2

Answer:

For vertex we use formula As :

h = −b2a , here a = -4 And b = 4

So ,

h = 12

SO, the axis of symmetry is x = 12 = 0.5

Put that value in our given polynomial and get

y = -4 ( 12 )2 + 4 ( 12 ) - 1

y = -1 + 2 -1

y = 0

So,

The vertex is ( 0.5 , 0 ) ( Ans )

Step 1 - Now form a table , with different values of x and y As :

y = -4x2 + 4x - 1

x y

-2 -25

-1.5 -16

-1 -9

-0.5 -4

0 -1

0.5 0

1 -1

1.5 -4

2 -9

Step - 2 plot these poit on x -y plane and get
