Q) The sum of Farhan and his cousin's age is 38. 7 years ago, Farhan was 3 times the age of his cousin. Find the current age of Farhan

Let age of farhan = f

Let age of his cousin = c

ATC - 1

f + c = 38 . ------- ( 1 )

ATC - 2

f - 7 = 3( c - 7 )

f = 3c + 21 - 7

f = 3c + 14 ------ ( 2 )

Put the value of f in eqñ 1 .

3c + 14 + c = 38

4c = 38 - 14

c = 24 / 4

c = 6 .

Put value of c in eqñ 2 .

f = 3(6) + 14

f = 18 + 14

f = 32 .

We got ,

[ f = 32 , c = 6 ]

So, Age of farhan = 32

Age of his cousin = 6 .
