Let B's present age be 'x' years.
Then A's present age = (x+25) years.
In 15 years,
(x+25)+15= 2(x+15)
x+40=2x+30 => 40-30=2x-x
10=x. therefore present age of B is 10 years and present age of A is 10+25= 35 years.

atharva13: you are wrong
atharva13: A is older than B
tanya241: Yaa A is 35 years. and B is 10 years. obviously A is older than B.

Let's take the age of B as x

So, the age of A will be x + 25

After 15 years, their ages will be

A = x + 25 + 15 (because 15 yrs have passed)
= x + 40

B = x + 15

x + 40 = 2(x + 15)
x + 40 = 2x + 15

Now, transposition will take place.

2x - x = 40 - 30

Answer is 10 = x

The age of B is 10 yrs currently.
The age of A is 10 + 25 = 35 yrs.
