Answer :-

x = 3

y = 1

Step by step explanation

Given pair of linear equation

Solving by Substitution method

21x + 47y = 110 --------- ( 1 )

47x + 21y = 162 --------- ( 2 )

From eq'n ( 1 )

21x + 47y = 110

=> 21x = 110 - 47y

=> x = ( 110 - 47y / 21 ) --------- ( 3 )

Substitute the value of x = ( 110 - 47y / 21 ) in eq'n ( 2 )

47x + 21y = 162

=> 47( 110 - 47y / 21 ) + 21y = 162

=> 5170 - 2209y + 441y = 3402

=> 5170 - 1768y = 3402

=> - 1768y = 3402 - 5170

=> - 1768y = - 1768

=> y = - 1768 / - 1768

=> y = 1

Put y = 1 in eq'n ( 1 )

21x + 47y = 110

=> 21x + 47 ( 1 ) = 110

=> 21x + 47 = 110

=> 21x = 110 - 47

=> 21x = 63

=> x = 63 / 21

=> x = 3

Therefore, the value of x = 3 and y = 1.

Hope it helps!
