Activity-1.2⤵⤵

Aim :- Formation of lead nitrate and potassium iodide (or) To prove chemical double displacement reaction(or) precipitation(or) A chemical reaction in which two colourless solutions react together and exchange ions mutually and produce colourful precipitate.

Apparatus :- 2 test tubes and 1 boiling tube.

Chemicals :- Lead nitrate and potassium iodide.

Procedure:-

Take a pinch of lead nitrate and dissolve in 5.0ml of distilled water in test tube-A.

Take a pinch of potassium uodide in test tube-B and dissolve in 5ml of distilled water in test tube-B.

Mix the two solutions.

Observation:-

A yellow colour substance which is insoluble in water is formed(precipitate).

Conclusion:-

Pb(NO3)2 + 2KI =》PbI + 2KNO3.

Displacement reaction.

Explanation:

aim: Experiment to see how colour changes while an chemical reaction and also how state changes while chemical reaction .

material required: conical flask, lead nitrate, pottasium iodide solution .

procedure: Take a conical flask , put potassium iodide solution in it then mix lead nitrate into potassium iodide solution (in conical flask).

observation: While doing procedure we will observe that when we mix lead nitrate into potassium iodide solution it will change its colour into yellow and it's state into solid.

conclusion: It is clearly visible that in an chemical reaction change of state and change of colour also takes place.
