Crust :- The crust is the outermost thinnest of all the layers. It is also called lithosphere, as it is a sphere of solid rocks. Its thicknesses about 35 to 40 km on the continental masses and only about 5 to 10 km on the ocean floors. The continental mass is made up of rocks and the main mineral constituents are silica and alumina (SIAL). The Maine constituted tents of the rocks of the oceanic crust are silica and magnesium (SIMA). The crust forms less than 1% of the radius of the Earth.
