1. The word Himalaya means, snow , origin from Sanskrit. The three parallel ranges of Himalaya are :

• Greater Himalayas(Himadri)

• Lesser Himalayas (Himachal)

• Shiwalik (contains foothills)

2. Duns are longitudinal valleys formed when Eurasian plate and Indian plate collided.

ex- Duns are present between Lesser Himalayas and Shiwaliks.

3. Himachal range of Himalayas is famous because of the the high altitudes and presence of people.

4. The life of Himadri region is quite tough since they have to live in such cold environment all the time.

5. Crops are cultivated in Shiwaliks as weather is not cold as compared to other two ranges of Himalayas.
