1) Med-Arb is a hybrid approach which combines the benefits of both mediation and arbitration. In this process, parties first attempt to reach an agreement with the help of a mediator. If the issues remain unresolved or the mediation comes to an impasse, the parties may move on to arbitration.

The most common forms of ADR are arbitration, mediation, the rent-a-judge program, summary jury trial, and minitrial, although techniques can be combined to form hybrids suited to a particular dispute or legal jurisdiction.
