Given

Common difference (d) = -6

To find

a₁₆ - a₁₂

Formula

aₙ = a + (n - 1)d

Now we can write as

a + (16-1)d -{a + (12-1)d}

a + 15d - (a + 11d)

a + 15d - a - 11d

15d - 11d

4d

Now Put value of d = -6

4×-6

a₁₆ - a₁₂ = -24

Answer

a₁₆ - a₁₂ = -24

Answer:

Given :-

D = -6

To Find :-

a_16 - a_12

Solution :-

For 12 th term

 \sf \: a_{n} = a + (n - 1)d

 \sf \: a_{12 } = a + (12 - 1)d

 \sf \: a_{12} = a + 11d

For 16 th term

\sf \: a_{16} = a + (16- 1)d

 \sf \: a_{16} = a + 15d

Subtract them

 \sf a + 15d - a - 11d

 \sf 4d

Hence,

Difference = 4 × -6 = -24
