firshed the granddaughter mocked krishtakka and told her that she we too old to study but then as krishtakka said that there is no age bar for studies convincing sudha to teach her

The poet compares the life of brook and man as both of them in youth are aggresive and overcome their obstacles with force, similarly in old age both about unnecessary conflicts and be peaceful.

The last stanza says with a sign as the port thinks that he may have became more successful and wealthier if he had taken the other road

(a) At first made fun of her - age bar - seeing her grandmother’s determination to overcome all obstacles - started teaching her in earnest.

Detailed Answer:

When the grandmother requested the granddaughter to teach her to read, at first, she made fun of her. She couldn’t understand why at the age of sixty-two her grandmother had resolved to read and write. Then seeing her determination to overcome all obstacles, she (granddaughter) started teaching her in earnest.

(b) The line refers to the effect that Chuck had one dog, Duke. One evening, Chuck hooked the leash to Duke’s collar. The dog jumped in anticipation that his master would take him for a walk. The dog was excited but Chuck had shown no interest in making an effort to walk despite the dog's coaxing.

(c) The brook flows through the fields and meadows and joins the sea. Similarly, man takes birth, grows old and dies. Men live for a short period but the brook goes on forever.

(d) The final stanza in the poem ’The Road Not Taken' starts ’with a sigh’. It is a sigh of relief and satisfaction. The poet is satisfied with all that has happened in his life and the position that he is in. It is a sigh of relief that on that day he had taken the ’road less travelled by' and ’that has made all the difference.’
