(a) The seagull could fly but he was afraid. His two brothers and his sister had flown away but he stayed behind. He thought his wings would not be able to support him, so he was alone on the ledge.

(b) People are not always interested in listening to what you are telling them. They get bored and lose patience, but it is not so with paper. You can go on writing whatever you like, and as long as you like.

(c) Anil was a young man of 25. He was an easy going and kind man. He met Hari Singh and agreed to hire him as a cook. Anil earned money by writing for magazines. He was careless with his money. He was also larged hearted.

(d) Danby studied the complete situation of the house, i.e., electric wiring, paths and garden. He collected knowledge about family. He knew all the moments of the servants. He always kept his tools ready.
