(i) Does India need to have more than one standard time? If yes, why do you
think so?

Yes, India need to have more than one standard time.

• There is a wide range of the local time zones in the India,due to the long range of longitudes passing through the India.

• And we know that longitudinal difference can also cause time difference. For this reason,the eastern and western Indian regions have almost 2 hours of time difference which is a big time gap.

• Only one standard time is not capable to produce a average time for this huge time gap and multiple standard times is necessary to produce average times for both regions.
