Netaji had outstanding General Ship qualities. His foresight & ability to judge a man's character may easily outperform any other general professional. At the right time, he might put the right person at the right place & in the right job. Similarly, he was able to derive the best of his men, his power of observation & prediction allowed him to carry out such tactful war planning that led to the defeat of the British rule in India. The INA or the Indian National Army  was first formed in 1942 under  the leadership of Rash Behari Bose, an Indian revolutionary, by Indian Prisoner of Wars (PoWs) of the British-Indian Army apprehended by Japan during the Malayan campaign and at Singapore. This first INA dissolved and disbanded in December of that year amid disagreements between the leadership of INA and the Japanese military concerning its role in the Civil war in Japan. Rash Behari Bose later handed over INA to Subhas Chandra Bose
