Explanation:

  1. Soil is made up of air, water, minerals and organic material and is one of the most important natural resources on earth. Most life on earth depends on soil as a direct or indirect source of food. Plants and animals source their nutrients from the soil and it is home to many different forms of life.
  2. Following are the important causes of soil erosion:
  • Rainfall and Flooding. Higher intensity of rainstorm is the main cause of soil erosion.
  • Agriculture. The farming practices are the major cause of soil erosion.
  • Grazing

3. The hydrological cycle is described below :

After getting heated up, the water from these. bodies starts evaporating in the form of water vapours. into the atmosphere. As the vapours goes on rising, they keep on cooling. Due to the effect of cooling, water vapour gets condensed and forms clouds.

4. Dirty water containing chemicals is put back in the river. Water used for cooling is warmer than the river itself, and this is also a form of pollution. People are sometimes careless and throw rubbish such as bottles and crisp packets directly into rivers. Pollution kills water plants and animals.

5.The three ecological problems caused by building large dams could be soil erosion, extinction of species, loss of forests and wildlife, etc. Explanation: ... The dams hold the sediments back which recharges the downstream ecosystems naturally. As a result, many aquatic species are getting extinct.
