Explanation:

. a) What are exhaustible and inexhaustible resources? Give examples.

  • ANS: It's an organic natural resource that can, either through natural activity or other naturally recurring processes. It's the largest component of Earth's ecosphere. An exhaustible natural resource is one that can be eliminated by human activity. The passenger pigeon and the dodo bird are two examples. They were food sources until humans killed the last ones. Exhaustible natural resources are petroleum, coal, natural gas, forest and minerals. -

  • Resources that can't be replaced again after utilization. They are formed over very long geological periods. Rate of formation is extremely slow, it can't be renewed easily.Inexhaustible natural resources are wind, sunlight and water.

b) Why is conservation of fossil fuels essential?

ANS: Fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) are non- renewable resources. Once they are depleted, they will not be available for millions of years. Therefore, it is essential to conserve to conserve these fuels.

c)What is the impact of using excess of fossil fuels?

ANS: They are non-renewable sources of energy and are no longer available if once used. 2) Excessive use of fossil fuel cause uncontrollable threat to environment. Like acid rain, global warming ,air pollution and Ozone layer depletion.
