a) IMPERIALISM means : creating an empire , expanding into the neighbouring regions and expandin its dominance far . COLONIALISM : is a term where a country conquers and rules over other regions . It means exploiting the resources of the conquered country for the benefit of the conqueror.

b) The temperate and cool climate of the hill station was suitable for the British who associated hot weather with epidemics. Most of the British Officials moved to hill station during the summer season.

c) A militory garrison or camp ( especially in the indian sub-continent .

d) The felt the need to survey is important because this was the way to know the country better.

e) Oral history strives to obtain information from different perspective and most of this cannot be found in wrritten sources . Oral history also refers to information gathered in this manner and to a written work based on such data , often preserved in archives and large libraries.
