answer:  1. When any substance have value and utility then the substance is known as a resource. A SUBSTANCE IS A RESOURCE IF IT HELPS US TO SATISFY OUR NEEDS. THESE SUBSTANCES ARE CONVERTED INTO RESOURCES BY VALUE ADDITION. THIS IS THE CONDITION FOR A SUBSTANCE TO BE CALLED RESOURCE.

2.Utility is a term in economics that refers to the total satisfaction received from consuming a good or service. Economic theories based on rational choice usually assume that consumers will strive to maximize their utility.
