answer the following regarding an electric heater-
1. why is the heating coil placed in a circular porcelain plate 2.why does heating coil not produce visible light

1. Because Porcelain is not a good conductor of electricity. so safety increases
.Secondly it doesn't melt due to the heat because it's melting point is much higher, around 1000°C

2. It does not produce visible light because the heat radiations do not match the frequency of the visible light.

Answer:

1)The heating coil is placed on a circular porcelain plate because porcelain is an insulator of electricity.

2)The heating coil does not produce visible light initially because the energy is too less to emit light. When heated excessively then the amount of light energy will produce visible light
