57/(5√3-3√2)

(Multiplying both part with (5√3+3√2)

=57×(5√3+3√2)/57 [(5√3-3√2)×(5√3+3√2)=57]

= 5√3+3√2

Now if we compare it to right hand side,

5√3+3√2=5√3-a√2

or, 3√2=-a√2

or, -a=3 or, a = -3

The "or" part of 17,

√(10+2√21)+√(10-2√21)

= 5.29 (approximately)

18. let 88.42(bar on 42) be x

so, x = 88.42(bar on 42)

multiplied by 100 on both sides,

100x=88.42(bar on 42)×100 = 8842.42(bar on 42)

Now if we subtract both of them,

100x-x = 8842.42(bar on 42) - 88.42(bar on 42)

or, 99x = 8754

or, x = 8854/99

or, x = 2918/33

you'll see 2918/33 = 88.42(bar on 42) so the answer is 2918/33
