Step-by-step explanation:

1) perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

= 2(9+16)

=2 x 25

= 50

If it is a square then perimeter = 4a

4a  = 50

a =12.5cm

2) the area of the door = 2.5 x 1

                                  =2.5m²

the area of the wall = 4.5 x 3.6

                                 = 16.2m²

Area of white washing = Area of the wall - Area of the door

                                      = 16.2 - 2.5

                                      = 13.7 m²

Cost of white washing = 13.7 x 18

                                    = 246.6 rupees

Answer = Rs.246.6

3) The height corresponding to the base AD is AF,

In triangle ADF,

AE=FD=4 cm , AD=6 cm

Applying Pythagoras theorem,

AF^2=AD^2-FD^2

AF²=6²-4²

AF² = 36 - 16

AF² = 20

AF =√20

AF = 2√5cm
