Step-by-step explanation:

For solving this I think we can first take out area of all unshaded triangles and subtract it from area of rectangle to get area of shaded triangle.

Area of triangle ABE = 1/2 × h × b

                                  = 1/2 × 24 × 7

                                  = 84 sq cm

Area of triangle ADF = 1/2 × h × b

                                  = 1/2 × 15 × 12

                                  = 90 sq cm

Area of triangle FEC = 1/2 × h × b

                                  = 1/2 × 12 × 8

                                  = 48 sq cm

Area of all unshaded triangles = 84 + 90 + 48

                                                  = 222 sq cm

Area of Rectangle = length × breadth

                              = 15 × 24

                              = 360 sq cm

Area of shaded triangle = Area of rectangle - Area of unshaded triangles

                                       = 360 - 222

                                       = 138 sq cm
