The relation between focal length, magnification, and distance of object from mirror is given by :

$m \: = \: \frac{f}{f \: - u} \\ \\ 3 = \frac{24}{24 - u} \\ \\ 3(24 - u) = 24 \\ \\ 72 - 3u = 24 \\ \\ 72 - 24 = 3u \\ \\ 48 = 3u \\ \\ u = \frac{48}{3} \\ \\ u = 16cm$

Hence object distance is

=> 16cm Answer
