In horizontal projection of a projectile, the force of gravity acta in a vertically downward direction which cannot affect the horizontal component velocity of the body. Due to it , the body moves with a constant horizontal velocity in horizontally projected body.

making it clear and simple, it is bcz force of gravity is a force acting vertically downwards and hence it only affects the vertical motions and not the horizontal one
