usually the strength of the magnetic field is affected by factors like :

1) the number of coils present

2) the nature with which the core is made

3) the amount of current passing through the solenoid.

but in the question they have denied the 1) and the 2) factor

so the strength of the magnetic field can be reduced by reducing the amount of current that is passing through the conductor.
