Given:1)A tank contains 150 litres of oil

2)the oil left in tank and oil removed are in the ratio of 6:4

To find:Quantity of the oil remaining in the tank

Solution:let the common multiple be X

therefore the oil remaining in the tank=6x

oil removed=4x

Total oil that was present in the tank was 150 litres

therefore,

150=6x+4x

150=10x

150/10=X

15=X

therefore,X=15

Now,

replacing the value of X

the oil remaining in the tank=6X=6×15=90 litres

Therefore the quantity of oil remaining in the tank is 90 litres
