9] 7 + 4y = -5

Move constant to the right

➾ 4y = -5 - 7

Calculate

➾ 4y = -12

Divide both the sides by 4

➾ y = -3

∴ The value of y is \green{\boxed{\green{\boxed{\red{\textsf{-3}}}}}}

Let's check the solution :-

7 + 4y = -5

By putting the value of y

➾ 7 + 4 × (-3) = -5

➾ 7 + (-12) = -5

➾ -5 = -5

∴ LHS = RHS ✔✔
