Here goes your answer

The angle x+y become the exterior angle for the triangle

We know that exterior angle= sum of interior opposite angles

So x+y = 59+60

x+y = 119

If two lines are parallel and a transversal is drawn then the corresponding angles will be equal

So x=60°

x+y=119

60+y=119

y=119-60=59
