ANSWER:- The poet conveys the message that animals are better than human beings because they don't complain about their condition, don't cry for their wrong actions, don't run after possessions and don' t show unnecessary respect to their elders.

b)Explain the line 'Clashed his tail like iron in a dungeon'.

ANSWER:-This line from the poem The Tale of Custard the Dragon' is a simile. This means that Custard, the dragon clashed his tail with a loud noise like an iron rod hitting the iron bars of a prison cel.

c)Why did the thief ,Hari singh changed his name every month?

ANSWER:-Hari Singh is an experienced and successful thief. He hid his real identity and changed his name every month in order to decline the police and his employers. He also changed his city and never made any friends.

d)What had Fowler expected Ausable to be like ?Did Ausable fit that expectation?

ANSWER:-Fowler had expected Ausable to be like a typical secret agent, smart and awe-inspiring. Ausable did not fit that description at all. He was fat and sloppy. Fowler was quite disappointed to see him.

e)Explain the qualities of post office employs.

ANSWER:- Postmaster and other post office employees were very generous and contributed for the act of charity as they decided to send money to Lencho on behalf of God.They were very kind and helping the needy people.

ANSWER:- Natalya ask her father to fetch Lomov at once as she comes to know that Lomov had come to propose her. She accused Chubukov of driving Lomov out of their home.

g)Who was Lencho?What were his main problems?

ANSWER:- Lencho was a hardworking farmer who lived on the top of a low hill with his family. Lencho's main problems were rainfall and locusts (insects). If rain turned into hail or did not fall when required, his crop would fail. Further, if a plague of locusts attacked his crops, he would not be able to earn enough to feed his family.
