The continental crust is known as sial as it is the topmost layer of the soil but in the oceanic crust the layer of soil is deep inside the ocean and also very lower from the sea level and therefore,it is the layer of soil next to sial layer.And as we know,after sial layer there is sima layer so the oceanic crust is known as sima.
