Answer:

Mir Qasim proved to be a very capable ruler and wanted to bring a change in the administration from the very beginning of his rule, he did not want to remain as a puppet under the British. This angered the British and caused the Battle of Buxar.

The British defeated the combined forces of Mir Qasim, Shuja- ud- daulah and Shah Alam ll

The consequences of the war were as follows:-

- The Mughal emperor became the pensioner of the British.

- In the settlement with the Nawab of Bengal, the English got the right to diwani or the right to collect revenue in the province of BEngel, Bihar and Orissa.

- Both the Nawab of Bengal and the Mughal emperor became dependent on the British.
