1.) In the arrangement A and B shown in the figure below. Pins 'P' and 'Q' are fixed to a metal loop and an iron rod with the help of wax. In which case are both teams likely to fall at different times ? Explain.

ANSWER : Here, as shown in the attachment we can see that a metal loop is kept there and pins are fixed with the help of wax.

(According to the first case ) ↦

As we can see the attachment (figure provided in the question) In the case 'A' the pins are arranged will fall as P → Q respectively as both are in the metal loop with the process of conduction. Therefore, they will fall at same time respectively.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

(According to the second case) ↦

Now, here in the case 'B' (figure provided in the question) the prints will not fall at the same time because it's all with the process of conduction and according to this process first of all pin 'P' will fall and then pin 'Q' will fall.

Both case will not be in same Times ; the prints will likely fall at different times in each case (as shown in the justification given / provided)

2.) Answer :

Here, as per the provided question we are said to find the time taken for the whole distance covered, so let us find here the time :

➠ Distance travelled = 500 km

➠ Average Speed = 50km / hr

Formula used (Time Taken) :

➠ Time Taken = Distance / Speed

[ substituting the values as per the and formula here ]

⟹ Time Taken = 500 km / 50 km/hr

[ When reduced]

⟹ Time Taken = 10 hr.

3.) Answer :

The two applications of convection are as follows :

  • A paper cup, full of hot soup, lying on the table.

  • Process of going of hot air balloon.

4.) Answer :

Electromagnet is a man-made (artificial) magnet which is made by man, and can be used only for temporary times.

Two uses of electromagnet are as follows :

  • electromagnet is used in electric cranes, so that they can separate the magnetic materials like Iron from the garbage.

  • Electromagnet is used in Electrical Bells.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

5.) Answer :

(i) Now, here we will have to find distance covered :

[ So, now here we will apply the formula used for finding out distance covered ]

[ Formula that is to be applied for finding distance covered ] :

➠ Distance covered = Speed × Time

( Substituting the values as per the provided formula ) :

➠ Distance covered = 50km/h × 5h

➠ Distance covered = 250 km

Therefore, distance covered by the car in 5 hour at the speed of 50 km per hour = 250 km

(ii) Here, will have to differentiate between uniform speed and non uniform speed, so let us begin now (1 point) :

UNIFORM SPEED :

➠ when it moves along a straight path and covers equal distance in equal interval of time, however small these intervals of time maybe.

NON - UNIFORM SPEED :

➠ It does not move along a straight path. It is only motion with a constant speed along a straight path that is regarded as a uniform motion.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

6.) Answer :

Now, here we will have to change the numericals :

(a) convert 120°F into °C

So, we will have to convert 120°F into °C , let's begin it :

➠ For changing the given value of fahrenheit into celsius, we will have to subtract the value from 32 and then multiply it from 5/9 hence we will get the answer, let us do it :

⟹ 120°F - 32 × 5/9 = 48.889°C

Therefore, we have converted 120°F into Celsius and we got the value as 48.889°C

(b) Convert 32°C into °F

So, we will have to convert the given value of °Celsius into fahrenheit :

➠ Instead of applying the method of converting Fahrenheit into Celsius we will have to reverse the method and apply 9/5 after value (which the sign of multiplication) and after that we'll at the value as 32, finally answer will come out.

⟹ 32°C × 9/5 + 32 = 89.6°F

7.) Answer :

When the wire goes in fuse condition then electrician fix the copper wire instead of fixing proper wire because copper wire is the best wire which is used in this type of condition, to move it well and then the fuse will work without any fixing of problem. Therefore, the conclusion comes here that – 'he does the right thing, in this particular situation'.

The application on which fuse work – Heating effect. [(Heating effect ➠ Production of heat in a wire / coil due to flow of an electric current.)]

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

8.) Answer :

(a) It is said to be a temporary magnet because it works temporarily as it is a mad man made magnet and as we know that man made magnet is not as permanent magnet.

(b) Nail attracts the pin because it is the property of magnet that they attract the magnetic materials (like : iron).

(c) If we connect more cells in the circuit it will produce huge amount of electricity (electric current) which can lead hazardous to our health / probably the circuit can't work properly due to problem fixing (as there will be larger production of electric current / electricity)

1. In an arrangement A and B shown in the figure below ,pins P and Q are fixed to a metal loop and an iron rod with the help of wax. In which case are both the pins likely to fall at different times. Explain.

 \huge\rm { ☆_!! Answer !_!  ☆}

In case B the pins likely to fall at different times , this is because both pins P and Q are placed at distance in the case B, so at first by the process of conduction pin P will fall and then pin Q but in the case A both pins P and Q are placed at the same point only the difference is that pin Q is placed at upper surface and Q is placed at lower surface but when the conduction will occur in case A both pins will fall at the same time.

6.Solve the given numericals-

  • Convert 120° F into
  • Convert 32° C into °F

 \huge\rm { ☆_!! Answer !_!  ☆}

Convert 120° F into ℃

We know,

 \large \sf\red { ℃ =\dfrac{5}{9} ( F-32)}

 \large \sf {\leadsto ℃ =\dfrac{5}{9} ( 120-32)}

 \large \sf {\leadsto ℃ =\dfrac{5}{9} \times 88}

 \large \sf {\leadsto ℃ = \cancel {\dfrac{440}{9}} = 48.8℃ ( Ans) }

Convert 32° C into °F

 \large \sf\red { F = ( C \times \dfrac{9}{5}) + 32}

 \large \sf { F = ( 32 \times \dfrac{9}{5}) + 32}

 \large \sf { F = \dfrac{288}{5} + 32}

 \large \sf { F =  \dfrac{288 + 160}{5}  }

 \large \sf { F = \cancel {\dfrac{ 448}{5}  }= 89.6°F ( Ans)}

7. When the fuse blow off, the electrician quickly fixed it with a copper wire because he didn't have a Proper fuse wire. Do you think he did the right thing. Why?

 \huge\rm { ☆_!! Answer !_!  ☆}

No , he did absolutely wrong because all fuse wires have low melting point so that they easily melt when electric current passes through it but copper wire has high melting point so that it won't melt easily and may lead to the high flow of electric current and may damage our appliances.

8. Application based questions:

a) Why it is said to be as temporary magnet?

 \leadsto Magnetism of an electromagnet only lasts as long as the current passes through its coil. Thus , we can't call it permanent magnet and hence it is said to be as temporary magnet.

b) Why does the nail attracts the pin?

 \leadsto We know that when electric current is passed through a conducting wire, it behaves like a magnet. And because of this property nail becomes an electromagnet and hence attracts the pin.

c) What will happen if we connect more cells in the circuit?

 \leadsto If we connect more cells in the circuit then the electromagnet will become stronger because of the large amount of current flowing or passing through it.
