Let the present ages of two sisters be x and y

x + y = 25 years

(Elder sister - x)

10 years later,

x+10 = 5 + (y+10)

x + 10 = y + 15

x - y = 5

Solving,

x + y = 25

x - y = 5

=> 2x = 30

x = 15 years

x - y = 5

15 - y = 5

y = 10 years

Elder sister's age = 15 years

x+y=25

(x+10)=5(x+10)

x+10=5x+50

4x=40

x=40÷4

x=10

therefore

10+y=25

y=15
