Solution:-

Hydrogen

  • Volume = 1 dm ³
  • Mass = 0.09 g

Gas

  • Volume = 2 dm³
  • Mass = 2.880 g

Vapor density is the ratio of mass of a specific volume of gas to mass of the same volume of hydrogen gas

If 2 dm³ of a gas weighs 2.88 g

Then 1 dm³ of a gas will weigh 1.44 g

⟹ Vapor density = 1.44 / 0.09

∴Vapor density = 16

⟹ Molecular weight = vapor density x 2

⟹ Molecular weight = 16 x 2

∴Molecular weight = 32 g
