time taken to complete one round = 40 sec

diameter of circular track = 200 m

radius of circular track = 200/2 = 100 m

circumference of track = 2πr

circumference of track = 2 × 3.14 × 100

circumference of track = 628 m

speed = distance / time

speed of athelete = 628 / 40 m/s

speed of athelete = 15.7 m/s

so.,

distance covered by him in 2 min 20 sec.., i. e, 140 sec

distance = speed × time

distance = 15.7 × 140 = 2198 m

Round taken by athelete = 2198 / 628 = 3.5

It means athelete completed three and half round of the track.

so,

displacement = 628 /2 = 314 m
