Answer:

x = -10 , -1/5

Step-by-step explanation:

Here

2(\frac{2x-1}{x+3})-3(\frac{x+3}{2x-1})=5

Let (2x - 1)/(x + 3) = Y

∴ (x + 3)/(2x - 1) = 1/Y

Putting values in the given equation

2Y-\frac{3}{Y}=5

Multiplying both sides by Y

2Y² - 3 = 5Y

2Y² - 5Y - 3 = 0

Splitting middle term

2Y² - 6Y + Y - 3 = 0

2Y(Y - 3) + 1 ( Y - 3) = 0

(Y - 3) (2Y + 1) = 0

(Y - 3) = 0   and (2Y + 1) = 0

Y = 3 and Y = -1/2

Putting back value of Y in both the solutions

I Case                                         II Case

Y = 3                                            Y = -1/2

(2x - 1)/ (x +3) = 3                        (2x - 1) / (x + 3) = -1/2

2x - 1 = 3x + 9                             2( 2x - 1) = -1 ( x + 3)

-x = 10                                         4x - 2 = -x -3

x = - 10                                       5x = -1

                                                    x = -1/5
