Initial Velocity of ball Is 20 m/s (u)
Final Velocity of ball is 0 m/s (v)
Time is 4 seconds
Therefore Acceleration due to gravity is Difference between Final Velocity- Initial velocity divided by time
Therefore g (acceleration due to gravity) is
- 5 m/ s square.
By the Third equation of motion
v^2= u^2 -2gs
s is the displacement or distance
The answer is
b)Distance =40m
Displacement = 40m
Since the ball moves in a straight line distance and displacement are same.
