Heya user,

Here's the answer:

Let the total number of arrows Arjun had be 'x'.

Let the total no of arrows Arjun carried x .

Given,
He used half of the arrows, he cut down the arrows thrown by Bheeshm = x / 2.

With 6 other arrows, he killed the rath driver of Bheeshm with one arrow each, he knocked down the rath, flag and the bow of Bheeshm.

Now, with one more than four times the square root of arrows, he laid Bheeshm unconcious on an arrow bed
=> 4√x +1

So, from the above we'll get:

》x/2 + 6 + 3 + 4√x + 1 = x

⇒ x + 20 + 8√x = 2x

⇒ x - 8√x - 20 = 0

⇒ √x(√x-10) + 2(√x-10) = 0

⇒(√x + 2)(√x - 10) = 0.

√x = -2 or √x = 10 ( Reject the negative value)

⇒√x = 10

∴x = 100
