Teflon is a ethylene polymer plastic. The chemical name of teflon is Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). It is a special type of plastic on which oil and water do not stick. It is used for non - stick coating on cookwares.

Teflon is the trade name for plastic material called polytetraflurothylene. Scientists use it as a barrier in the gasket that held the uranium within the bomb. It is used for coating over utensils & also used in paints because of its stain resisting property!!
