Answer:

  • The length of each side of the string to form a square = 7.5 cm.
  • The length of each side of the string to form an equilateral triangle = 10 cm
  • The length of each side of the string to form a regular hexagon = 5 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the formula of the perimeter we calculate the length of the sides of the figure.

(i) All the sides of a square are of equal length. and There are 4 sides in a square.

Length of the string = Perimeter of the square

30 cm = 4(side)

Side = 30/4

Side = 7.5 cm

(ii)   All the sides of an equilateral triangle are of equal length.And there are 3 sides in a triangle.

Perimeter of triangle = 3 (side)

3 (side) = 30

Side = 30/3 = 10 cm

(iii)All the sides of a regular hexagon are of equal length.And there are 6 sides in a hexagon

Perimeter of hexagon = 6 (side)

6 (side) = 30

side = 30/6 = 5 cm

Answer:

  • a square

7.5 cm

30 cm =6a --- ( let a be the length of each side)

a =5 cm .hence the length of each side of the string to form a square = 7.5 cm

  • an equilateral triangle

An equilateral triangle has three equal sides

perimeter = 3* (side)

⋯ side = perimeter / 3 = 30/3 = 10 cm

Hence the length oh each side of equilateral triangle is 10 cm

  • a regular hexagon
  • a regular hexagon has six equal sides

perimeter = 6ᳵ( side )

∵ side = perimeter / side = 30/6 = 5 cm

Hence , length of each side if the string is used to forma regular hexagon will be 5 cm

  • square = 7.5cm
  • an equilateral triangle = 10 cm
  • a regular hexagon = 5 cm
