Given :- x-1
X = -1

a) x3 + x2 - x + 1

We know x=-1

P(-1) = -1^3 + -1^2 - (-1) +1
= -1 + 1 + 1 + 1
= 2
So no , (x-1) is not factor of this poly^

b) x3 + x2 + x + 1

P(-1)= -1^3 + (-1^2) + (-1) + 1
= -1 + 1 - 1 + 1
= 0
So yes , (x-1) is the factor of this poly^

c) x4 + x3 + x2 + 1

P(-1) = -1^4 + (-1^3) + (-1^2) +1
= 1 - 1 + 1 + 1
= 2
So no, (x-1) is not the factor of this poly^

d) x4 + 3x3 + 3x2 +1

P(-1) = -1^4 + 3*(-1^3) + 3*(-1^2) +1
= 1 + 3*-1 + 3*1 +1
= 1 - 3 + 3 + 1
= 2
So no, (x-1) is not the factor of this poly^
