ANSWER

Given2x+1=x−3

⇒2x−x=−3−1 by transposition

⇒x=−4

∴in the number line x gets the value −4 from 0 to −4 units.

In the cartesian plane the point lies at x−axis ∴ the y−co-ordinate  is 0.

Thus the point (−4,0) lies at negative x−axis.
