using pythogorus theorem we have
width^2+length^2=diognal^2
5^2+length^2=13^2
length^2=144
length=12cm
perimeter=2(l+b)
2(17)=34cm

tapaswinisinghp7qqpg: what does this (^) symbol means ?
tapaswinisinghp7qqpg: multiply ??
GawthamCR7: power
tapaswinisinghp7qqpg: oh
GawthamCR7: x^2 means x square

Width of  a rectangle = 5 cm

Diagonal = 15 cm

Length of that rectangle = ?

We know that,

Diagonal^2 = Length^2 + Breadth^2

( 13 cm ) ^2 = Length^2 + ( 5 cm ) ^2

169 cm^2 = Length^2 + 25 cm^2

Length^2 = 169 cm^2 - 25 cm^2

Length^2 = 144 cm^2

Length = √( 144 cm^2 )

Length = 12 cm.

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( Length + Breadth )

                                    = 2 ( 12 cm + 5 cm )

                                    = 2 * 17 cm

                                   = 34 cm.
