A) USES OF PETROLEUM :

☆In transportation for running the vehicles .

☆In power stations , where diesel and gasoline are used in gas turbines to produce electricity.

☆For heating and lighting purpose.

☆As lubricants for smooth running of all types of machines .

☆Both petro - chemical and chemical industries use by products as raw material.

B) CHARACTERISTICS OF LPG :

☆It has very high calorofic value , neat and clean domestic fuel .

☆It burns with smokeless flame and thus does not cause pollution .

☆It does not produce any poisonous gases on combustion.

☆It is easy to handle and convenient to store .

b)LPG allows efficient cooking: LPG is easily controllable so it helps consumers to cook with desired heat or flame intensity. Density: LPG at atmospheric temperature and pressure is a gas which is 1.5 to 2.0 times heavier than air. It is readily liquefied under moderate pressure
