your answer to every question

  1. metalloid in above table

→       In above table silicon(Si) is the metalloid as :-

Reason:-

As Sodium(Na), Magnesium(Mg) and Aluminium (Al) have valency 1, 2, 3 respectively so they will donate electron to attain inert gas configuration so they are metals.

and,

Phosphorus(P), Sulphur(S) and Chlorine(Cl) have 5, 6, 7 elctrons in their outermost shell so they will gain elctron to acheive inert gas configuration so they are non - metals.

Silicon(Si) has 4 electrons in their outermost shell so either it will gain or lose four electrons so  it will behave as metal or non-metal so it is a metalliod.

     2. Atomic size of sodium and magnesium

→       Na > Mg                 (atomic size)

Reason :-

As Na and Mg belongs to same period so their atomic size must be approximately same but as Na has 11 electron and 11 protons and magnesium have have 12 electron and 12 protons so when they will atain inert gas configuration i.e 10 electron in total then magnesium will have have a higher Z-effective i.e the attraction by the nucleus so the size of magnesium will decrease

3.Trend of electronegativity from Na to Cl

→        Cl > S > P > Si > Al > Mg > Na         (Increases)

    4. Non-metal in the given table.

→       Phosphorus(P), sulphur(S) and Chlorine(Cl)

Reason:-
