When electric current is passed through an electric bulb or electric heater heat is produced in them .

• Joule's first law : The amount of heat produced in a conductor in a given interval of time is proportional to the square of the current passed.

H proportional to I square, when R and t are kept constant

• Joules's second law : The amount of heat produced in a conductor by a given current in given time is proportional to the resistance of the conductor.

H proportional to R, when I and t are kept constant

• Joule's third law: The amount of heat produced in a given conductor by a given current is proportional to the time for which the current passes.

H proportional to t , when I and R are constant

Answer:

When an electric current is passed through a conductor, the conductor becomes hot after some time and produce heat. This happens due to the conversion of some electric energy passing through the conductor into heat energy. This effect of electric current is called heating effect of current.

Joule’s law-

The joule’s first law shows the relationship between heat produced by a flowing electric current through a conductor.

Q = I2 R T.

Where,

Q indicates the amount of heat.

I show electric current.

R is the amount of electric resistance in the conductor.

T denotes time.

Current ( I ) = Charge ( Q )/Time ( T ). also, by ohm's law current ( I ) = Potential difference ( v )/Resistance ( R ).
