In ∆ODA and ∆OBC,
Angle A = Angle B ....(each 90°)
AD = BC ....(given as equal in length)
But, because angle A is equal to angle B
The sides AD and BC also become parallel to each other
So angle ADO = angle OCB ....(interior alternate angles)
So,
by ASA rule of congruence of triangles
∆OAD is congruent to ∆OBC
Thus,
AO = BO
and hence this means that CD bisects the side AB
