HELLO DEAR,
GIVEN THAT:-
X = (3 + 2√2)
∴ [ on squaring both side ]
we get,
X² = (3 + 2√2)²
⇒x² = 9 + 8 + 12√2
⇒x² = (17 + 12√2)--------(1)
Now,
1/x² = 1/(17 + 12√2)
1/x² = (17 - 12√2) / [(17 +12√2)(17 - 12√2)]
∴[ multiply by {17 - 12√2) both num.and denominator]
NOW,
⇒1/x² = (17 - 12√3)/(289 - 288)
⇒1/x² = 17 - 12√2---------(2)
∴ adding---(1) & ----(2)
we get,
x² + 1/x² = 17 + 12√2 + 17 - 12√2
⇒(x² + 1/x²) = 34
I HOPE ITS HELP YOU DEAR,
THANKS
