Single time use plastic bags are made of low density polythene. The main problem with these bags is its disposal which is very harmful to the environment. A lot of cattle die in India everyday just by consuming these plastic bags and hence the government has introduced Anti-Plastic campaign where in either re-usable paper bags are given to customers or people are charged for the plastic bags.

The  Anti-plastic campaign has been originated by various NGO's in several parts of the nation. It was originally inaugurated by the "Blue and Green" organization. The NGO created consciousness about wellness hazards and the terrible consequences that could be faced due to the application of plastic.

Plastic has been verified to be one of the most polluting factors of the atmosphere. So, the usage and dispose of synthetics need to be controlled to withdraw any further degeneration of the environment.

So, as a component of this campaign, actions were taken up by the provincial Regulations of the centers of Shimla, Manali, and Chandigarh. They keep control of the usage of plastic bags and have zero tolerance for waste.  Similar actions were taken in Kerala to protect the water bodies and the greenery.

The usage of plastic bags has been prevented altogether in most capitals, and if there has been a user of any synthetic items, it is regarded as a criminal offense with a heavy penalties.
