  • Find their ages.

✞Understanding:-

As we don't know what is the age Raju and Anu, we will say their ages as,

  • Raju- 'x'
  • Anu- '5+x' ( Because she is 5 years elder to Raju)

According to Question:-

  • Their ages sum up to 31.

So, the required equation will be,

⇒5+x+x = 31

⇒5+2x = 31

⇒2x = 31-5

⇒2x = 26

⇒x = 26/2

⇒x = 13

  • So, we got value of x as 13.

✠Now,

Let is find the ages of both Raju and Anu.

  • Raju = x = 13 years
  • Anu = 5+x = 13+5 = 18 years.

So, The age of Anu and Raju is 18 and 13 years respectively.
