Calculation of printed price

Answer:

printed price of perfume without tax = Rs 1500.

Explanation:

given that

Price of perfume purchased by Anu including taxes = Rs1770

Rate of tax = 18%

Printed price is without including tax

so Purchased price = printed price + tax

=> Purchased price = printed price + 18% of printed price . [ we have taken 18% of printed price because tax is calculated on printed price ]

for sake of simplicity lets bring the most unknown familar friend of every problem solver that is variable x into picture.

so lets assume printed price be equal to x .

so Purchased price = x  + 18% of x

=> 1770 = x + 18x/100

=> 1770 = 118x/100

=> 1770 × 100/118 = x

=> x = 177000/118 = 1500

so printed price of perfume without tax = Rs 1500.
